Winner of the 2021 Cantabile Sngers (Truro NS) composition competition, this is a setting of a poem by Susan Glickman from a set published in the July 2018 edition of Walrus Magazine as “Extinction Sonnets.” It concerns the myth of the Chinese River Dolphin (白鱀豚 “báijìtún” in Mandarin Chinese), probably the first dolphin species driven to extinction by humans.
