The 30-voice women’s ensemble Laude from Victoria BC, with financial assistance from the BC Arts Council, commissioned a 5-minute work for SSAA choir. The piece was premiered in Victoria in April, and will be performed again at the Kathaumixw International Choral Festival in Powell River BC in July 2012. Entitled Seulete Suy, the new piece is based on texts by the medieval poet Christine de Pizan. [updated 21.v.12]
